Steve’s solo style is a hybrid of his love for all things Organic &
Electronica, a style he calls ‘Organica’ which is the equivalent of having
the likes of Lennon / Marley & Costello playing in a Clash tribute band then going to the aftershow with Daft Punk on the decks, Marvin Gaye & Nina Simone behind the bar with Prince & OutKast scuffling outside the door trying to get in.
Steve is a serious, serious talent.
Combining classic songwriting with cutting edge production & a real passion
for live gigs, Steve has been just under the radar for a little while but he
has now decided to give up his day job of writing for the great & the good, stop
giving away his best songs & have some fun himself.
To this end his future solo activities are under the name of Steve Edwards & The Big Strong Love which is a live band of talented friends who share Steve’s vision with ‘strictly no session players allowed’.
His debut album will be ready for the world soon & he wants everyone who believes in love, justice, passion & the truth to be part of The Big Strong Love which connects us all.
Steve has always enjoyed collaborations with talented people & has worked with the likes of Basement Jaxx, Axwell, Cassius, Michael Gray & Moloko. His most recent work has been writing the outstanding global smash & now true classic ‘protest house anthem’ World, Hold On for Bob Sinclar & he’s followed that up with the forthcoming single ‘Together’ which Steve also wrote for Monsieur Sinclar which looks set to rock the world once again. Like a rabble rouser from the town hall steps Steve’s message in Together is again, one of stirring a little revolution from within the hearts & minds of children around the world who have a right to a greener, more peaceful future.
Steve always seem to have more ideas than is good for him so he’s directed some of this extra energy into a project with 2 good mates from Sheffield & they are known as ‘Lords Of Flatbush’.
The main actors are Steve Edwards, Phil Jones, & Andy Nicholson of Arctic Monkeys infamy.
They play an Electro/Punk/Funk/Rocksteady soundclash & their MO is simply to have a good time, make you sway & your ears bleed.
Look out for a forthcoming mash up with Seamus Hagi in 2008 with the future top 10 single Nice Tight Derriere.
